George is a law enforcement and military veteran with more than 25 years of experience in combined law enforcement and security service. His lifelong interest in firearms began at the age of 7 when he learned to shoot. He officially joined the NRA as a lifetime member at 13, later upgrading his status to an endowment member. He started his public service career at 16 as a volunteer EMT before joining the military at the age of 18 as a logistics specialist for Marines. After his time in the Marines, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College in NY. He went on to become a police officer with the Chesapeake Police Department in VA where he won several accolades for his marksmanship skills. Using the knowledge he gained from the Marines and police department, he opened his own security business in 2005 and became a certified firearms instructor. He has taught individuals and classes as well as served as a consultant for various law enforcement agencies and private-sector security companies. He spends his free time working with local Boy Scout troops on firearm safety and teaching women’s classes in partnership with women’s domestic shelters.
